What’s the point of hiring an interior designer?

Why hiring an interior designer, and to what extend? From my experience this depends on what kind of client you are. Throughout my career I've worked with many people (today I consider most of them as friends) and I think I can identified three types of clients:
The Sparing Partner
You are looking for a partner in design to bounce ideas back and forth, just like in martial arts? Then this is you. Let's become sparing-partners! I want to help you finding the best look for your home. I can provide tools, feedback and guidance. Your involvment here is mostly welcome. Once we've established the design direction it's up to you wether we go on and get in the builders, hire the seamstress and buy new furniture. Or if we let the design sit for a while. No strings attached!
The Budgeteer
Let's be honest - we are all looking for the best deal. So why should hiring an interior designer (who unfortunately cannot work for free) help you saving money? The answer is fairly easy: because it's money well spent! As an interior designer I help you avoiding over-priced contractor work. I make sure you buy furniture from the right sources, and for the right price. Let me help you uncover hidden costs before jumping on internet bargains. I firmly believe that professional guidance and discussing all options is essential when working on a budget. It's all about making smart decisions.
The Full-Service Client
This is you if you are living the 'high voltage' lifestyle: a demanding job, family commitments, and definitely too little time for yourself. And on top of all there is a new home to decorate?! But don't you worry - I am here to help. With as little involvement as possible from your side we can create great interiors together. From design proposal, to getting in cost estimates, to supervising all contractors, to finishing touches - I offer a full-service-program so that you can spent your extra time stretching out on the new sofa.
